Vahap

Vahap approached us with their passion for coffee, hospitality, and local heritage. Vahap’s team had many stories they wanted to share through their brand, from their skills in brewing coffee to the local heritage of their refurbished building.

We designed a brand identity that would evolve with the brand’s necessities. The visual system featured the three main stories they wanted to share: Heritage, Expertise, and Hospitality.

Heritage

Located at the center of Yaowarat, Bangkok’s Chinatown, Vahap is full of cultural heritage. The brand’s logo is inspired by the building and local signage typography. Additionally, graphic stamps were designed using the pattern of the building’s facade to be used on packaging.

Expertise

A infographic system was designed to showcase Vahap’s passion for coffee. Inspired by Vahap’s mark, we adapted the form to create a graph to indicate the various processes and features of each coffee bean. This system was used as the brand’s coffee card template.

Hospitality

As Vahap also focuses on hospitality, the chicken illustration was used to make the brand more approachable. The chicken was used akin to a mascot, appearing in posts and signs to invite customers to the café.

When applied, each of the treatments would portray a specific part of Vahap’s core values. Our idea was to have Vahap’s brand evolve to reflect the values they uphold depending on the assets their team chooses to use.
